Support Our Work

Help Build What Should Already Exist

Make Me Visible exists to address a gap that most systems still do not account for: what happens when someone is navigating serious legal, medical, financial, family, and workplace breakdowns at the same time, and no one stays responsible for what happens next?

Most people are told to report the issue.
Document it.
Find the right professional.
Try another agency.

But when no one stays involved, the responsibility does not disappear. It shifts onto the person already trying to survive it.

Make Me Visible is being built to stop that shift from happening by default.

What Your Support Actually Builds

Supporting this work means contributing to something practical and usable in real situations, not surface-level messaging. Your support helps build:

Protection That Actually Holds

Ways to ensure that when serious situations are reported, they do not get dropped between agencies, professionals, or institutions.

Case Tracking That Follows Through

Structures that show what happens after a report is made so responsibility is not lost at every handoff.

Clear, Organized Documentation

Tools that allow people to present timelines, patterns, and evidence in a way that is difficult to dismiss or ignore.

Escalation That Moves

Defined routes for what happens when situations are not handled properly and who is responsible for stepping in next.

Models Built for People Without Backup

Approaches designed specifically for people who do not have family support, stable work environments, financial capacity, or people advocating for them behind the scenes.

When There Is Nowhere to Go

There is a category of situations most systems are not designed for: people who are facing compounding breakdowns across multiple areas at once and have:

No family they can call

No reliable emergency contact

Incurable, unpredictable, destabilizing conditions

No professional who stays involved

No place to stabilize

They are not dealing with one issue. They are dealing with everything at the same time. And they are expected to navigate it alone.

This is where advocacy, real support, and protection are not optional. They are what determine whether someone stabilizes or collapses under the weight of it. Make Me Visible is being built for this exact scenario.

What Real Support, Protection, and Advocacy Actually Mean

These words are used everywhere. Very rarely are they defined. Here is what they mean here:

Real Support

Staying involved when things become complex, not stepping away once the situation requires effort, time, or consistency.

Protection

Ensuring someone is not left exposed when risk has already been identified, documented, and communicated.

Advocacy

Taking action that moves a situation forward when systems stall, not just offering advice, validation, or referrals.

Anything less than this is not support. It is temporary assistance.

What Your Support Makes Possible

By supporting this work, you are helping establish a standard that does not currently exist:

Situations do not get dropped midway.

Cases are not quietly closed without follow-through.

People are not left exposed after reporting what happened.

It becomes harder for exploitation to continue unnoticed. Harder for responsibility to disappear between systems. Harder for someone to be pushed out of visibility and left without recourse.

This work strengthens consistent advocacy, clear documentation, pressure for follow-through, and visibility that cannot be easily dismissed.

We operate from a simple position: do the right thing, stay involved, do not step away when things become difficult.

Why This Work Is Necessary

Because real life does not break down into clean categories. People are dealing with destabilizing workplaces, families that withdraw or turn against them, financial loss, serious health conditions, legal situations that require constant attention, institutions that respond once and then step away, and a society that often looks away when things become too complex. These are not separate problems. They happen at the same time.

And when they do, each professional only sees a fraction. A lawyer sees one case. A doctor sees one condition. An employer sees one situation. An agency sees one report. No one is responsible for understanding the full picture. That gap is where people break.

I lived this directly.

active legal situations

serious health conditions, managed at the same time

Each lawyer handled only their piece. The criminal prosecutor saw one version. The attorney connected to the financial-institution situation saw another. Other professionals came in and out without ever seeing the full reality.

People stepped in briefly, then stepped away. Over and over.

And the question no one could answer was: when am I supposed to stabilize my life if I am constantly managing breakdowns across every direction, with no one holding the full picture?

This is what happens when no one stays responsible for the whole.

This Is Not Charity

This is not about feeling bad for someone. It is about recognizing a gap that already exists and helping build something that closes it.

Many people assume support exists because they have people they can call, professionals who stay involved, financial breathing room, work environments that remain stable, and a reputation that is automatically believed. But when those are missing, everything becomes harder.

And when someone in that position asks for support, they are often met with:

“I’m not your employee.”

“I’m not your slave.”

“You need to take responsibility.”

What’s being misunderstood is simple: they are trying to survive situations that were never meant to be handled alone.

Where Your Contribution Goes

Building the platform and tools that track real situations

Legal and research work that strengthens accountability

Operational support for reviewing and organizing cases

Collaboration with professionals and institutions

Making patterns visible in a way that cannot be ignored

Who This Matters For

This work is designed for people who:

Are dealing with overlapping breakdownsHave nowhere to goHave no emergency contactAre navigating serious conditions and unstable environments at the same timeAre still expected to carry everything alone
And are still expected to carry everything alone.

A Different Standard of Support

Help

A ride to the doctor is help.

Real Support

A system that stays involved in your care is real support.

Help

A referral to a lawyer is help.

Real Support

A structure that ensures the case doesn't stall is real support.

Help

A response to a report is help.

Real Support

Responsibility for what happens after is real support.

Make Me Visible is focused on building that second layer.

I am not asking people to feel sorry for what I went through. I am asking them to recognize that what happened should not be possible in a functioning system. This exists so that people are not left to carry everything alone when situations become too complex for one person to hold.

This is being built for people who had nowhere to go and were still expected to figure everything out. Support is what turns that reality into something that finally holds.

Support Make Me Visible

Choose a one-time contribution, recurring support, or a project partnership. Put your resources behind enforcement when protections fail, action that helps people stay safer, and support that makes recovery possible.
